Vehicles subject to motorway vignette payment

Pursuant to Section 2(2) of Act No. 488/2013 Coll. on the motorway vignette and on amending certain acts, designated motorway sections marked with traffic signs may be used after payment of the motorway vignette fee by:

• two-track motor vehicles or vehicle combinations up to 3.5 t,
• two-track motor vehicles of category M1 regardless of their maximum technically permissible total weight,
• two-track vehicle combinations consisting of a motor vehicle of category M1, N1 and a trailer of category O1 and O2, if the sum of the maximum technically permissible total weight of the motor vehicle and the maximum technically permissible total weight of the trailer exceeds 3.5 t.

Payment obligation

Pursuant to Section 4(1) of Act No. 488/2013 Coll., the driver of a vehicle or vehicle combination is obliged to pay for a motorway vignette.

Pursuant to Section 4(2) of Act No. 488/2013 Coll., the operator of a vehicle is obliged to ensure that the payment obligation for a motorway vignette is fulfilled when using designated motorway sections with a vehicle or vehicle combination.
